Born in Lexington, Kentucky.

Transferred to Baylor University in 1967.
Obtained a B.A. from Baylor in Political
Science in 1970, and a J.D. from Baylor
Law School in 1971.
Initially employed by Davis & Walker
(Fred W. Davis and R. Jeff Walker), both
now retired state district judges). In 1975,
founded Nix & Rollins with J. Andrew
Rollins (now deceased). Built present office
building in 1977.
Solo practice since 1980, but shared offices
with several attorneys, including Toby Goodman,
Pat Remington, Kenneth Kautz, Terry Leedy,
Stan Wilkes, and Michael J. Remme.
Married to Peggy Nix, former school teacher and
school counselor, now a private counselor (MA,
M.Ed, LPC, RPT, and CFLE) with Cornerstone
Counseling Center.
